Water Desalination & Treatment
By 2025, over half of the world’s population is expected to be without a reliable source of drinking water. Only scalable, cost effective solutions such as Jetstream’s WATER DESALINATION & TREATMENT SYSTEM will help supply this diminishing resource. Desalination systems turn saltwater or brackish water into water fit for human consumption. Water treatment systems provide a number of treatment options to treat or remediate non-potable water to make it fit for human consumption.
The Company’s solar thermal collector for water can be adjusted to develop temperatures from 212 degrees to 1,000 degrees (F) for use in a wide range of industrial processes. Jetstream’s water treatment module utilizes this heat to power the unique flash evaporation technology contained within the module.
As brackish or saltwater or postindustrial waste water is fed into the treatment module, it contacts plates of proprietary materials that have been heated by the focused solar radiation. Instantly the water turns to steam and the heavier molecules of the salts and minerals fall to the bottom of the module and are mechanically removed. The rising steam is then released and condensed and can be either injected into clean water aquifers or can be reconstituted into drinking water with the addition of the necessary replacement of “good” minerals.
Municipal water utilities, governmental water authorities and industrial and commercial accounts comprise the customer base for these products. Other treatment technologies they use, such as reverse osmosis, are either very expensive and energy intensive or are very slow and inefficient. Jetstream’s use of “free” renewable energy and the low operations and maintenance costs related to its technologies and low processing costs can produce clean water at costs supportable by current water pricing. Clean affordable water produced with free renewable energy has a tremendous positive impact not only on our environment, but also on society at large.
